Beyond the bite
Welcome to Bite Club Grooming, where behaviors aren't barriers! I understand that some dogs find grooming stressful. Anxiety, fear bitting, aggression, hard to handle, or all of the above! I am here to provide compassion and patience, without judgment. Building trust, and easing over boundaries to create a more positive experience. FEAR-FREE tested and certified, based in Victoria, serving from Sooke, to Duncan, to Sidney, and everywhere in between.
My approach
As a pet owner who has a "must be sedated prior to vet check-ups" cat, I thought, 'what if I broke my arm and Max needed to be groomed by someone else?!" Combined with my 15 years of dog training, and grooming experience, 20 years of dog, cat, (and rat!) Pet ownership, and the new freedom to graduate from stay-at-home motherhood, to pursue a passion, the concept was born. High risk, low pay, a terrible buisness model, but I love what I do!
"I want to groom the 'Untouchables' and help every pet who can not visit the standard groomers, whether it's due to temperment, mobility limitations, or owners who have been told, they must medicate their pet.
Using positive reinforcement techniques and a gentle approach to help even the most anxious dogs feel comfortable during grooming. Patience and breaks as needed for all the "DONT TOUCH ME" felines, I focus on working through trauma, and changing the experience into something positive.
Everyone's different, but no ones impossible.
Grooming services
I provide offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to your cat or dog's specific needs both temperamental, degree of buildup, and coat type. From basic brush and undercoat blowouts, bathing for the real grime, de-matting, tidy-up haircuts, or just a meet-and greet with a nail trims, a little goes a long way. It doesn't all have to be done at once, set small goals, and work towards expanding your pets tolerance and threshold of patience.
Nail trims
Keeping paws healthy and comfortable. Black nails, over- grown nails, cracked nails, even your pet rodent's nails! Paws can be a sensitive area for pets, and I'm happy to help owners learn to do this themselves with confidence. Indoor cats especially, will almost always need regular trims, and with the free roaming outdoor cats, who could benefit from a little extra length on those murder mittens, it is still important to keep an eye on the condition of the claws!
Baths & Brush
Especially during our islands rainy seasons, a good wash down to the skin, in all the nooks, and crannys is a must, regularly. As I aim to provide in-home care, should your tub not be accommodating, and if it is too cold for a yard & hose wash, (keep in mind I clean up everything before I leave!) Transportation to and from either my own home, or my favorite self serve dog wash facility is an option we can discuss, if bathing at your home isn't going to work out.
Ear Cleaning
Maintain ear hygiene with a gentle and thorough rinse, quick and painless. Using a combination of cotton pads, swabs, warn damp microfiber cloths, leaving no crevas left behind.

About the Bad Dogs Bite Club
Once an obedience trainer, and groomer, turned to pet owner and mother, now my children are becoming more independent, making room for me to pursue something I can enjoy, and provide a rewarding service back to my community. 18 years I've called Victoria, British Columbia, my home. Once I acquired my first, "bad" pet, I was filled with empathy.. I wouldn't dare try and bring Max to the groomers, despite how friendly he is with my children, (this was after he shredded the hand of our kind veterinarian)
Now I am here to support all the pets (and their owners) who, just do not like bath day!
In addition to highly reactive pets, I offer free or discounted services for un-housed owners, those of low income single parent households, senior living residences, and the list goes on. Rebates for recent adopters and fosters, and so much more, to meet everyone's needs (and budget!)
Happy dogs, happy tails

"Bite Club Grooming is amazing! My dog, who was turned away from 2 groomers, was so relaxed by the end. And I swear my house was cleaner then before she got here! I highly recommend her!"
Sarah M.
"Finally, a groomer who understands my dog's anxiety! Stephanie is patient, (VERY patient) and truly cares about building a good atmosphere"
David L.
"4 years of build up, and really bad matting behind the ears, I thought she was just going to shave it all off, but no. Little by little, the coat was saved."
Emily K.
